18th May 2003 Windsurfing: Borth, Car Park Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: force 4-5 Surf / Sea State: 6-7 foot faces Air Temperature: 18 ƒC Sea Temperature: 11ƒC Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: An excellent session! A bit slow at first but the wind picked up quickly as did the waves. Together with the sunshine this meant almost perfect conditions. I got some huge jumps out of the larger waves. So did Al from what I could see when riding only 20 m away alongside him. For a while I thought about changing down to 5.0m but luckily I did not as the wind calmed down later. Unfortunately my power joint broke at some point during the session but I was lucky that it broke just after the inside gybe. Al was friendly enough to recover my board. I only fell in chest deep water still holding on to the sail but it was hard work to get to the beach as the waves kept pounding me. Anyway thanks Al! I got out another power joint and continued to have lots of fun out with the other lads I hadn't seen since probably the end of last year. To sum it up: great fun! Joe |
